Iraqi Ambassador to the UK Praises Al-Mustaqbal University’s Experience in Sending Students for Training at British Universities

His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Professor Dr. Saleh Hussein Ali Al-Tamimi, praised Al-Mustaqbal University’s experience in sending its students to British universities and academic institutions for training, describing it as a distinctive and unique academic experience among Iraqi universities for providing advanced opportunities to develop students’ skills and enhance their scientific and professional expertise. The remarks were made during His Excellency’s reception of a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in London, as part of the university’s academic communication programme aimed at strengthening its international presence and expanding prospects for cooperation with global universities and academic institutions. The university delegation was headed by Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and included Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies; Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom; Dr. Wissam Al-Furaiji, Official in Charge of the Expatriates Affairs File; as well as a number of students participating in academic training programmes in the United Kingdom. The delegation presented the university’s experience in sending students from various scientific disciplines to British universities and academic institutions to participate in advanced summer training programmes designed to develop their scientific and practical skills and strengthen their capabilities in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and modern scientific and technological fields. The meeting also addressed ways to expand cooperation between Iraqi and British universities, activate academic and research exchange, and provide broader opportunities for students and faculty members to benefit from the advanced expertise and scientific capabilities available at British academic institutions. His Excellency the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for this academic initiative, emphasizing the importance of supporting programmes that contribute to developing the capabilities of Iraqi students and strengthening the openness of Iraqi higher education institutions to leading global universities and scientific centres. He also highlighted the importance of continuing such initiatives in preparing a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills required to keep pace with rapid scientific and technological developments. This initiative forms part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to strengthening international academic partnerships and providing its students with advanced educational and training opportunities. It also contributes to enhancing the quality of education, consolidating the university’s presence in international academic forums, and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education.
