The third day of the intensive training program for students of the College of Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University, held at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) in the United Kingdom, featured strong academic engagement and intensive practical training, focusing on digital and smart systems for advanced engineering and innovation. The current phase of the program included three main sessions. The first focused on systems thinking and the integration of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence through joint collaboration with Synoptix. The second addressed a significant advancement in the application of precision engineering within the medical sector and the development of gene therapies, through advanced scientific and training expertise presented by AskBio and Cardiff University. The program concluded with an introduction to the UK research funding landscape through UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), paving the way for participants to transform their innovations into competitive, practical projects. The engineering workshops included a training simulation with an expert on the development of gene therapy technologies and patents, as well as an overview of funding opportunities and guidelines for bringing industrial products to market. These activities contribute to equipping the University’s students with the latest international knowledge and preparing a generation capable of keeping pace with ongoing developments in modern engineering and technological fields.
