Al-Mustaqbal University Indexes 21 New Research Papers in the Global Scopus Database Within One Week

Al-Mustaqbal University continued to strengthen its growing global research presence, indexing 21 new research papers in the global Scopus database during the period from August 21 to 27, 2026, according to a comprehensive bibliometric and statistical analysis conducted by the University of its weekly research output. The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, stated that the University had conducted a comprehensive analysis of the data. The results showed that 76.2% of these publications, totaling 16 papers, were published through open-access models, including Gold, Hybrid, and Green access, enhancing their international visibility and citation rates. Meanwhile, the average number of researchers per paper reached seven, indicating the expanding scope of collaborative research teams. Medicine ranked first among the disciplines with nine publications, followed by Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology with seven publications, Engineering with five, and Computer Science with four. The research output also demonstrated a notable presence in Materials Science, Nursing, Energy, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Social Sciences. These studies were published by prestigious international publishers, most notably Nature Research, Elsevier, and Frontiers Media. In terms of international collaboration, the University’s researchers co-authored studies with scientists from ten countries, led by Egypt, Iran, and Saudi Arabia with three papers each, followed by China, Jordan, Pakistan, and Türkiye, in addition to Hungary, India, and Malaysia. The University also maintained strong local partnerships with the Universities of Babylon, Karbala, Al-Kufa, and Jaber Bin Hayyan, alongside international partnerships with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Wenzhou-Kean University, Taif University, and Khazar University.
