The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, met with His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, Professor Dr. Saleh Hussein Ali Al-Tamimi, at the Embassy’s headquarters in the British capital, London, to strengthen international academic cooperation and develop young capabilities through the university’s academic outreach program. The academic delegation included the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abdul, in the presence of the Cultural Counselor in London, Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, the Embassy’s Officer in Charge of Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Wisam Al-Furaiji, along with a number of participating students. During the meeting, the university’s pioneering experience in sending students from various scientific disciplines to the United Kingdom to undertake advanced summer training at the University of the West of England in Bristol (UWE Bristol) was reviewed, particularly in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and the development of modern scientific and technological skills. This unique experience contributes to enhancing students’ academic and practical expertise and preparing them for the future. The meeting also addressed prospects for expanding partnerships between Iraqi universities and their British counterparts, exchanging academic and research expertise, and creating broader opportunities for students and faculty members to benefit from the scientific resources and capabilities available in the United Kingdom. Ambassador Al-Tamimi praised this distinguished academic initiative, affirming the continued support of the Embassy and the Cultural Mission for all steps that enhance the capabilities of Iraqi students and support the openness of Iraq’s educational institutions to leading global scientific centers.
