His Excellency Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, received a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University headed by the University President, Professor Dr Hassan Shakir Majdi, to discuss ways of strengthening Iraq’s academic presence in the United Kingdom and supporting international initiatives for Iraqi students.
The delegation presented Al-Mustaqbal University’s experience in sending students from various academic disciplines to the United Kingdom as part of its summer training programme, providing them with opportunities for professional and academic development at a number of universities and academic institutions in London. The initiative represents a significant step in the University’s efforts to provide students with international educational experiences that respond to the demands of the labour market and strengthen their scientific and professional capabilities.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between Al-Mustaqbal University and British universities and academic institutions, promoting the exchange of expertise and experience, and creating new opportunities for students and academic staff. Such efforts further strengthen the University’s engagement with leading international higher education practices.
Ambassador Al-Tamimi reaffirmed the Embassy’s support for academic and educational initiatives that contribute to developing the capabilities of Iraqi students. He highlighted the importance of international training programmes in preparing a generation of graduates equipped with knowledge, practical experience and the ability to compete in an increasingly global academic and professional environment.
The meeting reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to expand its international partnerships and provide its students with greater access to advanced academic and educational environments, in line with its vision of developing a more globally connected and internationally engaged university experience.
