Al-Mustaqbal University continued to strengthen its international research presence by recording 21 new research papers in the global Scopus database during the period from August 21 to 27, 2026, according to the results of the bibliometric and statistical analysis conducted by the University to monitor its weekly research output. The President of Al-Mustaqbal University indicated that the data analysis showed that 16 papers, representing 76.2% of the total publications, were published through open-access models (Gold, Hybrid, and Green), contributing to expanding their international accessibility and dissemination, as well as enhancing opportunities for readership and citation. The analysis also showed that the average number of researchers per paper reached 7.29, reflecting the growing scope of collaborative research and joint scientific efforts. The newly indexed research papers covered a wide range of scientific disciplines. Medicine ranked first with 9 publications, followed by Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology with 7 publications, Engineering with 5, and Computer Science with 4 publications. Additional contributions covered Materials Science, Nursing, Energy, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Social Sciences. In terms of international research collaboration, the University’s researchers contributed to joint studies with researchers from 10 countries, led by Egypt, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, with three papers involving each country, followed by China, Jordan, Pakistan, Türkiye, Hungary, India, and Malaysia. The research partnerships also included Iraqi and international universities, including the Universities of Babylon, Karbala, Kufa, and Jaber Ibn Hayyan, in addition to University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Wenzhou-Kean University, Taif University, and Khazar University. The research findings were published through prestigious international academic publishers, most notably Nature Research, Elsevier, and Frontiers Media, alongside a number of regional academic publishers. These results reflect the continued growth of research activity at Al-Mustaqbal University and reaffirm that scientific research represents a fundamental pillar of its academic mission, through supporting scholarly output, expanding research partnerships, and strengthening the presence of Iraqi researchers within the global knowledge community. 21 research papers in one week… another research achievement and a continuing journey of scientific excellence.
