His Excellency Dr Salih Husain Ali Al-Tamimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United Kingdom, received a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University, headed by the University President, Professor Dr Hassan Majdi, and comprising a number of university staff members and a group of student trainees. During the meeting, the delegation presented the University’s initiative to send students from a range of academic disciplines to the United Kingdom to undertake summer training at a number of universities and academic institutions in London. The initiative, the first of its kind for the University, aims to develop students’ skills and enhance their academic and practical experience. The meeting also explored ways to strengthen cooperation between Iraqi universities and their British counterparts, promote the exchange of expertise and experience, and create broader opportunities for students and academic staff to benefit from the scientific and academic resources available in the United Kingdom. His Excellency affirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting academic and educational initiatives that contribute to developing the capabilities of Iraqi students and strengthening the engagement of Iraqi educational institutions with international universities, in support of the advancement of higher education and scientific research in Iraq. The meeting was attended by Dr Kosay Al-Ahmady, Cultural Attaché, and Dr Wissam Al-Freiji, Head of the Embassy’s Expatriate Affairs Portfolio.
