.President of Al-Mustaqbal University Receives Head of the Technology Incubator Division and Outstanding Students, Honoring Distinguished Participants

The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, received Dr. Musaddaq Maher Abdul-Zahra, Head of the Technology Incubator Division, along with a number of creative students participating in the Incubator’s programs and the Student Innovation Camp during the summer vacation. During the meeting, the Head of the Division presented the most prominent achievements and activities implemented, foremost among them the opening of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, which serves as an organized environment for nurturing innovative ideas and student projects. He also highlighted the one-month Student Innovation Camp, which contributed to developing a range of initial technological ideas, projects, solutions, and digital platforms. The presentation also covered the implementation of specialized summer programs and courses in VEX Robotics through progressive learning tracks, practical demonstrations and applications of artificial intelligence tools, as well as demonstrations of electronic plagiarism detection and academic integrity systems. In addition, the Division contributed to discussions of research proposals and provided academic supervision for postgraduate students. The University President reviewed a number of proposed technological projects, including the SmartCart AI smart shopping cart project and the Smart Photovoltaic Panels System, which aims to utilize solar energy for electricity generation and management through an intelligent monitoring and control system. The meeting also discussed the proposed vision of transforming the university campus into a living laboratory for technology and sustainability. The President commended the efforts made, emphasizing that investing in young minds is the most important form of investment. He affirmed that the University is committed to supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation, while transforming students’ ideas into prototypes and practical projects that reflect the identity of Al-Mustaqbal University. He also directed continued support for the Incubator’s programs and their expansion, the provision of the necessary resources for developing prototypes, the encouragement of multidisciplinary projects, and the establishment of a student talent database. At the conclusion of the meeting, outstanding and distinguished students in the fields of programming, robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital platform development were honored in recognition of their efforts and their commitment to utilizing the summer vacation for learning and innovation, while encouraging their peers to participate in the activities of the Technology Incubator. For his part, the Head of the Technology Incubator Division expressed his thanks and appreciation to the University Presidency for its continued support, emphasizing that the Division operates according to the principle: “From an idea to a prototype, from training to a project, and from a project to an applied solution,” thereby contributing to strengthening Al-Mustaqbal University’s position in the fields of innovation and advanced technology. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first one university in Iraq.
