**Al-Mustaqbal University Council Holds Its Twelfth Meeting and Reviews a Year of Outstanding Achievements**

The Al-Mustaqbal University Council held its twelfth meeting for the academic year 2025–2026, chaired by **Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University**, and attended by all Council members. The meeting addressed a number of academic, scientific, and administrative matters, reviewed the most prominent achievements accomplished during the past academic year, and discussed early preparations for the upcoming academic year 2026–2027. The meeting began with an opening address by the University President, in which he congratulated all members of the University community, including faculty members, staff, and students, praising the outstanding achievements accomplished during the past academic year. He noted that these achievements reflected the University’s development and distinguished presence at both the local and international levels, particularly in the fields of scientific research, the national ranking, and international rankings, in addition to the University’s achievement of **institutional accreditation** and **programme accreditation** for a number of its colleges and departments. The University President also commended the University’s recent achievement in securing an **Erasmus+ grant**, which has contributed to expanding horizons for international academic cooperation and partnerships. He further highlighted the organization and hosting of numerous local and international scientific events and activities, as well as the launch of outstanding community service initiatives and efforts to strengthen the University’s contribution to achieving the **Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)**. Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi highly appreciated the sincere efforts made by faculty members, staff, and students, emphasizing that these achievements are the outcome of collective institutional work, integration among the University’s various formations, and the spirit of responsibility and excellence embraced by the Al-Mustaqbal University community. The meeting was also attended by **Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji**, representative of the Academics Syndicate in Babylon, who extended his congratulations and best wishes to the University Presidency and its esteemed Council on the occasion of securing the **Erasmus+ grant**, while praising the significant scientific and academic achievements accomplished by Al-Mustaqbal University. The meeting also reviewed prospects for constructive and fruitful cooperation between the Academics Syndicate and the University and discussed mechanisms for strengthening this cooperation, including the nomination of Syndicate representatives in the University’s colleges and at the University level, in addition to announcing employment opportunities for degree holders through the Academics Syndicate. As part of preparations for the new academic year **2026–2027**, the University President directed that all academic, technical, and administrative requirements be completed well in advance to ensure an effective and distinguished start to the new academic year and provide an appropriate environment for continuing the University’s journey of excellence and achieving further outstanding accomplishments. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality and rigor of the University’s academic and scientific outputs and aligning them with labour market needs and future requirements by continuing to update academic curricula, adopting modern teaching methods, activating the role of **Industrial Advisory Councils**, and benefiting from the experiences of leading international universities. He also stressed the importance of utilizing international academic partnerships and cooperation to further develop the educational and research processes. As part of the review of institutional performance, the meeting featured a number of working papers addressing key areas of the University’s development. **Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Baawi**, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, presented a paper addressing student-related matters, while **Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi**, Academic Supervisor, presented a paper reviewing scientific and academic performance. The session also included two presentations addressing the activities of the **Continuing Education Center** and the performance of the **Quality Assurance and University Performance Department**. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council discussed the items listed on its agenda and reviewed a number of matters and issues related to the University’s academic, scientific, and administrative affairs. The Council adopted the appropriate decisions and recommendations to further strengthen the University’s institutional development approach, support Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision of excellence and leadership, and continue achieving outstanding accomplishments during the upcoming academic year.
