As part of efforts to strengthen academic partnerships and advance scientific cooperation, the Academic Bridge Initiative Forum witnessed the signing of a joint scientific and cultural cooperation agreement between Al-Mustaqbal University and the University of Baghdad. The agreement aims to expand academic collaboration and enhance the educational and research environment in Iraq in line with the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The signing ceremony took place during the reception hosted by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, for the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan. The two sides discussed ways to develop joint cooperation and exchange expertise across various academic and research fields. The agreement covers several key areas, most notably digital transformation and artificial intelligence, through supporting joint research and innovation and employing smart systems to develop educational and research infrastructure. It also includes research cooperation through the implementation of joint applied scientific projects and encouraging the publication of research in reputable international journals indexed in the Scopus databases. The agreement further focuses on training and professional development by exchanging expertise and enhancing the digital and technical skills of teaching and administrative staff and students. In addition, it promotes academic cooperation in educational programs and curricula and supports both virtual and in-person knowledge exchange initiatives. This agreement reflects the shared vision of both universities to achieve academic excellence and strengthen institutional cooperation. It also contributes to supporting the development of higher education and scientific research in Iraq, while opening new horizons for innovation and entrepreneurship and laying the foundation for a more advanced and sustainable academic future.
