Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new academic milestone with its official inclusion in the results of the Global University Presence Index (GUPI), published through the Top Arab University Rankings platform, making it the only Iraqi private university featured in the index.
This achievement reflects the University’s growing academic and digital presence, as well as the expanding reach and scientific impact of its research output at both the national and regional levels, further strengthening its competitive position among leading academic and educational institutions.
According to the index’s official data, the list of Iraqi universities included seven institutions: the University of Baghdad, Al-Mustansiriyah University, the University of Technology, the University of Babylon, the University of Basrah, the University of Mosul, and Al-Mustaqbal University.
The GUPI adopts a methodology that combines academic data analysis with artificial intelligence technologies, evaluating several key dimensions, including international ranking presence, research impact and scholarly publishing, global academic presence, international scientific collaboration, digital infrastructure, and academic and professional reputation. Al-Mustaqbal University recorded 2,491 peer-reviewed research articles within the platform’s indicators.
This achievement reflects the University’s strategic vision centered on educational quality, the advancement of scientific research, sustainability, and digital transformation, as well as its continued efforts to expand international partnerships and strengthen its presence across Arab and global academic forums.
Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, emphasized that the University’s presence in independent international indicators represents a strong motivation to continue academic development and modernization, expand international cooperation, and contribute to advancing higher education in Iraq while enhancing the global presence of Iraqi universities.
