The Al-Mustaqbal University Council held its twelfth session for the 2025–2026 academic year, chaired by the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and attended by the Council members. The session addressed a number of academic, scientific, and administrative matters, reviewed the major achievements accomplished during the academic year, and discussed early preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year. The University President opened the session by congratulating the University’s staff and commending the significant achievements accomplished in scientific research, national and international rankings, institutional and programmatic accreditation, as well as obtaining the Erasmus+ grant. He highlighted its contribution to strengthening international academic partnerships and cooperation, alongside the organization of scientific events and community initiatives supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi emphasized that these achievements represent the outcome of institutional teamwork and integration among the University’s various academic and administrative units. He stressed the importance of continuing to enhance academic and scientific performance, updating curricula, adopting modern teaching methods, and aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs and future requirements. The session was also attended by the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate – Babylon Branch, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, who extended his congratulations on the University’s receipt of the Erasmus+ grant. Discussions focused on prospects for joint cooperation, including the appointment of Syndicate representatives and employment opportunities for degree holders. As part of preparations for the upcoming academic year, the University President directed the completion of all academic, technical, and administrative requirements and the enhancement of institutional readiness to ensure an effective start to the 2026–2027 academic year. The session also featured several specialized presentations addressing student affairs, scientific and academic performance, the activities of the Continuing Education Center, and the performance of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, supporting systematic evaluation and continuous improvement. At the conclusion of the session, the Council discussed the items on its agenda and adopted the appropriate decisions and recommendations, reaffirming its commitment to institutional development, quality, and academic excellence, and supporting Al-Mustaqbal University’s continued pursuit of leadership and further achievements.
