Al-Mustaqbal University Council Holds Its 12th Session Ahead of the New Academic Year

In the presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, the 12th session of the Al-Mustaqbal University Council for the academic year 2025–2026 was held, chaired by the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with the attendance of all Council members. The meeting addressed a number of academic and administrative matters, reviewed the key achievements accomplished during the previous academic year, and discussed early preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year. At the outset, the University President delivered a guiding speech in which he congratulated all university staff, commending the qualitative achievements that reflected the university’s development and distinguished presence at both the local and international levels, particularly in scientific research, national and international rankings, as well as obtaining institutional and programmatic accreditation for several colleges and departments. He also praised the university’s recent receipt of an Erasmus+ grant, which contributed to expanding academic partnerships and launching high-quality initiatives. The session also witnessed the attendance of Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, representative of the Academics Syndicate in Babil. The participants discussed prospects for cooperation and mechanisms for strengthening it, including announcing employment opportunities for degree holders through the Syndicate. As part of preparations for the new academic year, the University President directed that all academic and technical requirements be completed well in advance, emphasizing the quality of academic outcomes, their alignment with labor-market needs, and the updating of curricula. Regarding performance review, several working papers were presented, including a paper by the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, on student affairs, and a paper by the Academic Supervisor, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, on scientific performance, in addition to reports from the Continuing Education Center and the Quality Assurance Department. The session concluded with the adoption of appropriate decisions and recommendations to support the university’s path toward leadership and excellence.
