In line with the directives of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, aimed at expanding strategic partnerships with governmental institutions and strengthening the University’s role in supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development, Al-Mustaqbal University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Directorate of Industrial Development at the Ministry of Industry and Minerals on Thursday, June 18, 2026. The agreement seeks to enhance joint cooperation in scientific, research, and training fields while empowering students and graduates to transform their entrepreneurial ideas into productive projects that contribute to the national economy.
Representing Al-Mustaqbal University at the signing ceremony was Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, while the General Directorate of Industrial Development was represented by Dr. Eng. Ali Ibrahim Janaan, Director General of the Directorate. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Sameer Badrawi, Director of the Department of Cultural Relations at Al-Mustaqbal University, and Mrs. Huda Qasim Khazal, Assistant Director of the Planning and Studies Department and Head of the Graduates Division at the General Directorate of Industrial Development.
The Memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation in scientific research, training, and the exchange of expertise and knowledge, in addition to implementing joint programs and initiatives designed to develop the entrepreneurial skills of students and graduates, enhance their innovation and creativity, and equip them to meet labor market demands and contribute to economic development.
Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi emphasized that Al-Mustaqbal University continues to establish effective partnerships with governmental institutions as well as the industrial and productive sectors, in line with its vision of strengthening integration between higher education and various fields of employment. He noted that these partnerships contribute to preparing highly qualified professionals capable of leading development and innovation.
For his part, Dr. Eng. Ali Ibrahim Janaan stated that the General Directorate of Industrial Development is committed to strengthening cooperation with reputable academic institutions and benefiting from scientific research outcomes and innovation to support the industrial sector. He added that such collaboration plays a vital role in empowering young people to transform entrepreneurial ideas into productive projects that contribute to diversifying the national economy and achieving sustainable development.
This Memorandum reflects the shared commitment of Al-Mustaqbal University and the General Directorate of Industrial Development to establishing a strategic partnership that supports the national innovation ecosystem, provides a stimulating environment for entrepreneurship, and advances the country’s vision of building a knowledge-based economy through the effective investment in youth potential.
