Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Shakir Majdi, the Department of Architecture at the College of Engineering, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized an interactive educational workshop for children entitled “Green Architecture with Little Hands” at Smart Method School. The workshop aimed to foster creativity, raise environmental awareness, and instill the principles of architectural design and sustainability through an engaging and interactive learning experience.
The workshop introduced children to the fundamentals of sustainable architecture and the materials and tools used in constructing architectural models. Participants also designed and built miniature models reflecting environmentally friendly architectural concepts. In addition, the children had the opportunity to present their work and share their ideas, helping to develop their creativity, teamwork, and communication skills.
This workshop reflects the College of Engineering’s commitment to strengthening its community engagement and collaboration with educational institutions while promoting sustainability awareness among younger generations. The initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by providing an interactive, hands-on educational experience; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by promoting the principles of sustainable architecture; and SDG 13: Climate Action by enhancing environmental awareness and encouraging children to adopt environmentally responsible practices.
