The Department of Anesthesia Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies proudly announces that its teaching assistant, Zahraa Faleh Mahdi, has been awarded a Master’s degree with distinction from the College of Science for Women, University of Babylon. Her thesis, entitled: “Preparation of Hybrid Nanomembranes from Dragon Fruit Peel Extract and Polyvinyl Alcohol and Evaluation of Their Antibacterial Activity Against Bacterial Isolates from Burn Cases in Hospitals in Babylon Province,” focused on the preparation of hybrid bio-nanomembranes using dragon fruit peel extract and polyvinyl alcohol, followed by the evaluation of their antibacterial activity against bacterial isolates obtained from burn cases, particularly antibiotic-resistant strains. The study also investigated the biological, physical, and molecular properties of these nanomembranes, highlighting their potential as an innovative therapeutic approach for wound and burn treatment and their promising applications in medical nanotechnology. This academic accomplishment reflects the Department’s commitment to promoting scientific research and encouraging its staff to contribute to innovative solutions that address contemporary medical challenges.
