The training course aimed to enhance the competence and readiness of volunteer medical teams to effectively manage a wide range of emergency situations in accordance with the latest approved medical standards. This initiative contributes to the delivery of safe and effective healthcare services during the Arbaeen pilgrimage and reflects the University's commitment to its humanitarian and societal responsibilities. The program combined both theoretical and practical components, covering the management of choking, fainting, wounds, bleeding, burns, and fractures. Participants also received hands-on training in first aid procedures and the measurement of vital signs, including respiratory rate, heart rate, blood pressure, and blood glucose levels. The training was designed to strengthen rapid response capabilities and enhance participants' practical skills for field deployment. The organization of this course aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), through the preparation of qualified personnel equipped with the scientific knowledge and practical skills required to provide healthcare services during large-scale public events. The course was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Zaid Jawdat Al-Azzawi, Activities Coordinator in the Department of Anesthesia Technologies, with the participation of the University's volunteer medical team. The program included practical exercises and simulated emergency scenarios, enabling participants to develop their clinical competencies and prepare for efficient and confident service within the University's medical unit. The training course was attended by the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Professor Zahraa Halim Al-Qayyim, who praised the efforts invested in designing and implementing the program. She commended its scientific quality and organizational excellence, emphasizing that investing in volunteer training is a fundamental pillar for ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, while fostering a culture of volunteerism and strengthening students' sense of social responsibility.
