As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen integration between academia and the industrial sector, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, participated in part of the Industrial Advisory Council meeting of the College of Engineering Technologies. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College, along with council members representing experts, industrial sectors, labor unions, and employers. The meeting commenced with a welcoming speech delivered by the Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies, Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, who welcomed the University President and attendees, emphasizing the vital role of the Industrial Advisory Council in strengthening communication between the college and the sectors of work and production, in a way that contributes to developing academic programs and improving educational outcomes in line with labor market requirements. In his speech, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, stressed that the Industrial Advisory Council represents an important platform for enhancing cooperation between the university and the industrial sector. He noted that the university’s vision is based on building an innovative academic environment capable of aligning its educational outcomes with the needs of development and technological advancement. He further explained that the areas of cooperation include updating academic curricula according to labor market demands, providing practical training opportunities for students within industrial institutions, offering scientific and engineering consultations, and supporting applied research aimed at addressing technical challenges and developing modern industrial solutions. For his part, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi reviewed the university’s directions in supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, highlighting the importance of the newly established Science and Technology Parks Department. He emphasized the role that council partners can play in supporting students’ creative ideas and transforming them into startup companies, thereby contributing to job creation for graduates and supporting economic development. The meeting also witnessed the presentation of several proposals and interventions by council members. The University President listened attentively to the ideas presented and affirmed the importance of activating partnerships with industrial institutions and expanding areas of cooperation in a manner that serves the development of the educational process and enhances university competencies. It is worth noting that the Industrial Advisory Council of the College of Engineering Technologies, chaired by Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, includes the Scientific Assistant Dean, heads of scientific departments, as well as a distinguished group of experts, company owners, and representatives of labor unions and various industrial sectors, within the framework of supporting sustainable communication between the university and the labor and production environment. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first one university in Iraq.
