As part of its social responsibility and humanitarian role in supporting healthcare efforts during the million-person Arbaeen pilgrimage, the College of Health and Medical Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University organized, on Monday, 29/6/2026, a specialized training course to prepare the medical unit staff, with the participation of volunteer students from various medical departments. The course aimed to enhance the readiness of volunteer medical teams and improve their skills in handling emergency cases that may face visitors during the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), contributing to the provision of distinguished healthcare services throughout the pilgrimage season. The training course included theoretical and practical sessions covering methods of dealing with choking, fainting, wounds, bleeding, burns, and fractures, in addition to training on first aid principles, measuring respiratory rate, heart rate, blood pressure, and blood glucose levels, ensuring a rapid response to emergency situations according to approved medical standards. The course was presented by the department’s activities coordinator, Assistant Lecturer Zaid Jawdat Al-Azzawi, with the participation of the volunteer medical team. The training included practical and field applications aimed at developing participants’ essential skills and enhancing their readiness to work within the medical unit. The Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Prof. Dr. Zahraa Haleem Al-Qayim, attended the course and praised the efforts of the lecturers and the organizing team, commending the scientific and organizational quality of the training. She emphasized the importance of such programs in preparing qualified medical personnel capable of providing healthcare and first aid services with high efficiency during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
