As part of its humanitarian and cultural mission to commemorate religious occasions and promote authentic Islamic values, Al-Mustaqbal University organized a ceremony on Saturday, June 20, 2026, to raise the banner of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), marking the beginning of the holy month of Muharram. The event was held in cooperation with the Holy Hussaini Shrine and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University. The ceremony was attended by the University President, vice presidents, the Director of the Diwan Affairs Department, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, college deans, and a number of faculty members and staff. The event was also attended by Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, Head of the Academics Syndicate – Babylon Branch. The University emphasized that organizing this annual ceremony reflects its commitment to commemorating the eternal Hussaini Revolution and its profound values of sacrifice, reform, supporting justice, and upholding noble humanitarian principles. The message of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) continues to inspire generations with the values of justice, dignity, and steadfastness. The ceremony concluded with prayers to Almighty God that this blessed month may serve as an occasion to strengthen the values of brotherhood and mutual love, and that Iraq and its people may continue to enjoy security, stability, and peace.
