In a spiritual and faith-filled atmosphere, Al-Mustaqbal University held a ceremony to raise the flag of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) to mark the arrival of the holy month of Muharram, in cooperation with the Holy Hussaini Shrine, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majid, President of the University, on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The ceremony reflects the university’s commitment to commemorating religious occasions and promoting the humanitarian values inspired by the eternal Hussaini movement, which embodies the principles of sacrifice, reform, standing for truth, and upholding justice and dignity. The event was attended by the University President, the Assistant Presidents, the Director of the Office Affairs Department, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, College Deans, and a number of academic staff and employees. The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, President of the Academics Syndicate – Babylon Branch, along with university members who participated in this significant occasion that holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims. The university administration emphasized that organizing this annual ceremony is part of its commitment to supporting cultural and religious activities, strengthening noble values, and drawing inspiration from the message of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him), particularly the values of patience, sacrifice, reform, and social responsibility. The ceremony concluded with prayers asking Almighty God to make the holy month of Muharram a month of الخير and blessings, and to protect Iraq and its people, granting the country continued security, stability, and peace.
