As part of its humanitarian and cultural mission to commemorate religious occasions and promote authentic Islamic values, Al-Mustaqbal University held the Hussaini Banner Raising Ceremony on the morning of Saturday, 20 June 2026, marking the beginning of the Holy Month of Muharram. The event was organized in cooperation with the Holy Imam Hussain Shrine under the patronage of Professor Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University. The ceremony was attended by the University President, Vice Presidents, the Director of the Diwan Affairs Department, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, college deans, faculty members, university staff, and Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Khafaji, Head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate – Babylon Branch. The University affirmed that organizing this annual ceremony reflects its commitment to commemorating the enduring legacy of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and the timeless values embodied in his movement, including sacrifice, reform, justice, the defense of truth, and steadfast adherence to noble humanitarian principles. His message continues to serve as a lasting inspiration for generations, promoting dignity, justice, and moral courage.
