As part of the 2025–2026 graduation projects, students of the Building and Construction Engineering Technologies Department at the College of Engineering Technology, Al-Mustaqbal University, completed a distinguished research project entitled:
"Effect of Fine Materials on Concrete Mixes"
The project was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Noura Fawzi and focused on investigating the influence of fine materials on the physical and mechanical properties of concrete mixtures, including workability, compressive strength, durability, and long-term performance.
The study involved preparing several concrete mixes with varying percentages of fine materials and conducting a series of laboratory tests to evaluate their performance and compare the results with conventional concrete mixes. The research also aimed to identify the optimum proportions that achieve a balance between quality, performance, and economic efficiency while meeting engineering requirements.
The results highlighted the significant role of fine materials in affecting both fresh and hardened concrete properties and demonstrated their potential to enhance concrete quality when used within appropriate design limits.
This project reflects the students’ strong research capabilities and their commitment to developing innovative solutions that contribute to improving construction materials and enhancing the performance of engineering structures.
