As part of its educational activities aimed at enhancing students’ digital skills, the Department of Architecture Engineering organized a scientific workshop for first-year students entitled “Computer Fundamentals for New Engineering Students.” The workshop aimed to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of computer systems and their importance in academic and professional life. It covered the main components of a computer, operating systems, file organization and management, as well as the essential software applications required throughout the students’ academic journey. The workshop included a theoretical session focusing on the basics of computer use and effective digital practices, followed by a practical session that enabled students to apply fundamental skills using office applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, for report preparation and data organization. The workshop contributed to enhancing students’ technical competence and digital literacy, supporting the effective use of computers as an essential academic tool and helping them develop skills that will benefit their future studies and professional careers.
