As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening international partnerships and expanding cooperation with leading global academic institutions, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, president of Al-Mustaqbal University, signed a Letter of Intent with the prestigious University of Reading, United Kingdom. The signing ceremony and accompanying discussions were attended by Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, Iraqi cultural attaché in the United Kingdom. The University of Reading was represented by a distinguished academic and administrative delegation that included Professor Elizabeth Allen, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International Relations and Head of the Global Academy; Professor Keiichi Nakata, Professor of Social Informatics and Director of the Informatics Research Centre at Henley Business School; Mr. Alex Boughton, Director of Global Engagement and Executive Assistant to the Director of External Relations; and Ms. Irem Ozsoy, Senior Regional Manager for International Student Recruitment. The signed agreement aims to open new avenues of academic, scientific, and research cooperation between the two institutions. Key areas of collaboration include exploring opportunities for dual-degree and progression programs, discussing scholarships and tuition discounts for students, and enhancing joint scientific research, knowledge exchange, and collaborative academic projects. On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, commemorative shields were exchanged between the president of Al-Mustaqbal University and the British delegation as a symbol of the strong academic ties and the promising partnership between the two universities. In a supportive gesture toward Iraqi students pursuing higher education abroad, the Iraqi delegation, including Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi and Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, met with a group of Iraqi students and researchers studying at the University of Reading. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss their academic experiences, listen to their needs, and encourage them to continue striving for excellence in service of their country.
