Strengthened its direction toward internationalization and the development of higher education, Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, through its participation in the first day of the specialized Erasmus+ workshop, held under the patronage of the University President and attended by more than 110 representatives from universities and higher education institutions.
The participation comes within a three-day workshop aimed at enhancing participants’ understanding of Erasmus+ opportunities and mechanisms for benefiting from its programs in the fields of international academic cooperation, academic mobility, capacity building, and the development of educational and research projects, thereby contributing to improving the quality and outcomes of higher education.
The first day of the workshop addressed the main pillars of the Erasmus+ program, including its priorities of inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environmental sustainability and climate action, as well as the promotion of civic engagement and democratic values. It also highlighted opportunities available to Iraqi universities within International Credit Mobility, Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE), Erasmus Mundus, and Jean Monnet programs.
In addition, the workshop discussed mechanisms for preparing competitive project proposals and evaluation criteria, with an emphasis on aligning proposals with national priorities and higher education development indicators to ensure sustainable impact in education and scientific research.
This participation reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to expand its international partnerships and strengthen its presence in European programs, while advancing internationalization, innovation, and sustainability initiatives in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
