Al-Mustaqbal University and the University of Reading Sign a Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance International Academic and Research Cooperation

As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening international partnerships and expanding collaboration with prestigious global academic institutions, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Hassan Shaker Majdy, signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the renowned University of Reading, United Kingdom. The signing ceremony and accompanying discussions were attended by Professor Qusay Al-Ahmadi, Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom. The British side was represented by a distinguished academic and administrative delegation, including: * Professor Elizabeth Allen, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) and Head of the Global Engagement Academy at the University of Reading. * Professor Keiichi Nakata, Professor of Social Informatics and Director of the Informatics Research Centre at Henley Business School. * Mr. Alex Boughton, Director of Global Engagement and Executive Assistant to the Director of External Relations. * Ms. Irem Ozsoy, Senior Regional Manager for International Student Recruitment. Prospects for Joint Cooperation The signed Letter of Intent aims to open new horizons for scientific, academic, and research collaboration between the two universities. Key areas of cooperation include: 1. Joint Academic Programs: Exploring mechanisms for establishing Double Degree and Academic Progression Programs. 2. Scholarships and Financial Support: Discussing the provision of scholarships and tuition discounts for students. 3. Scientific Research: Identifying opportunities for joint research projects, academic exchange, and knowledge-sharing initiatives between both institutions. On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, commemorative shields were exchanged between the President of Al-Mustaqbal University and the British delegation as a symbol of the strong academic ties and the promising partnership between the two universities. In a supportive gesture toward Iraqi students pursuing higher education abroad, Professor Qusay Al-Ahmadi and Professor Hassan Shaker Majdy met with a group of Iraqi students and researchers studying at the University of Reading in front of the University’s Central Library. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss their academic experiences, listen to their needs, and encourage them to continue striving for excellence in service of their country.
