As part of its continuous efforts to strengthen international relations and expand cooperation with leading global academic institutions, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, signed a Letter of Intent with the prestigious University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
The signing ceremony and accompanying discussions were attended by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché to the United Kingdom, Prof. Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi. The British side was represented by a distinguished academic and administrative delegation that included:
Prof. Elizabeth Allen, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) and Head of the Global Engagement Academy at the University of Reading.

Prospects for Future Cooperation
The signed Letter of Intent aims to open new horizons for scientific, academic, and research collaboration between the two universities. The main areas of cooperation include:
Joint Academic Programs: Exploring mechanisms for establishing Double Degree and Progression Degree programs.
Scholarships and Student Support: Discussing opportunities for scholarships and special tuition discounts for students.
Scientific Research: Identifying opportunities for joint research projects, knowledge exchange, and collaborative academic initiatives between the two institutions.
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, commemorative shields were exchanged between the President of Al-Mustaqbal University and the British delegation as a symbol of the strong academic ties and the promising partnership between the two institutions.
In a supportive gesture toward Iraqi students pursuing their studies abroad, Prof. Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi and Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy met with a group of Iraqi students and researchers studying at the University of Reading. The meeting took place in front of the university’s Central Library, where they discussed the students’ academic experiences, listened to their needs and aspirations, and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence and distinction in service of their country.
