The Cultural Attaché of the Republic of Iraq in the United Kingdom, Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Ahmadi, paid an official visit to the University of Nottingham, accompanied by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Yasiri, and the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Dhalimi. The visit was conducted within the framework of strengthening academic and cultural cooperation between Iraqi higher education institutions and leading British universities, while benefiting from their advanced expertise in line with the requirements of future scientific and technological development.
This visit aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s vision of expanding international cooperation and establishing sustainable scientific partnerships with globally recognized universities. Such collaborations contribute to the advancement of higher education and scientific research in Iraq, particularly in priority scientific and medical disciplines.
The visit included extensive meetings with university officials and the leadership of the School of Pharmacy, culminating in the signing of an academic and scientific cooperation agreement between Al-Mustaqbal University and the University of Nottingham. The agreement encompasses the development of joint undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs, the launch of student exchange initiatives, faculty exchange opportunities, and enhanced collaboration in joint research activities and projects.
The agreement also includes the development of specialized programs in simulation-based learning and clinical education, aimed at enhancing the academic and professional training of students and researchers at both institutions.
Prof. Dr. Al-Ahmadi emphasized that scientific partnerships with internationally prestigious universities represent a fundamental pillar in the development of Iraqi higher education. He highlighted the importance of benefiting from leading global experiences in science, medicine, and research to improve the quality of educational outcomes and strengthen the capabilities of Iraqi researchers and academics.

Established in 1926, it has earned an outstanding academic and research reputation both in the United Kingdom and internationally. It attracts researchers and students from around the world, making it an important academic partner in supporting the scientific and research advancement of Iraqi educational institutions.
