In a new step reflecting Future University's direction towards expanding its international partnerships and opening up to prestigious global academic institutions, the university's president, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, signed a Letter of Intent with the British University of Reading, with the aim of enhancing scientific, academic and research cooperation between the two sides. The signing ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Cultural Counselor in the United Kingdom, Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, along with a high-level academic and administrative delegation from the University of Reading, which included a number of officials and specialized experts in the fields of international relations, scientific research, and attracting international students. The memorandum included a number of strategic axes aimed at developing joint cooperation between the two universities, most notably studying the possibility of creating joint academic programs that include dual degrees and academic twinning programs, as well as discussing opportunities to provide scholarships and special facilities for students, in addition to enhancing cooperation in the fields of scientific research, exchanging experiences and knowledge, and implementing joint research projects. On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, commemorative shields were exchanged between the two sides, emphasizing the depth of academic relations and in appreciation of this promising partnership that would contribute to the development of educational and research programs and open new horizons for students and researchers. The President of Future University and the Iraqi Cultural Counselor in the United Kingdom also met with a group of Iraqi students and researchers studying at the University of Reading, where they learned about their academic journey and listened to their most prominent needs and scientific aspirations, emphasizing the importance of continuing scientific excellence and contributing to serving Iraq and enhancing its academic presence at the international level. This memorandum comes within Future University's strategy aimed at strengthening its relations with reputable international universities, and raising the level of education and scientific research, in line with the requirements of international classifications and enhancing opportunities for students and teaching staff to engage in advanced academic and research programs.
