Al-Mustaqbal University Expands Its International Partnerships by Signing a Letter of Intent with the University of Reading, UK

As part of its strategic vision to strengthen its international academic presence and build effective partnerships with prestigious global educational institutions, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, signed a Letter of Intent with the University of Reading, one of the United Kingdom’s leading and historic universities, with the aim of enhancing scientific, academic, and research cooperation between the two institutions. The signing ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom, Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, along with a high-level academic and administrative delegation from the University of Reading. The delegation included several distinguished university leaders, among them Professor Elizabeth Allen, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International Relations and Head of the Global Academy; Professor Keiichi Nakata, Director of the Informatics Research Centre at Henley Business School; Mr. Alex Button, Director of Global Engagement; and Ms. Erem Ozsoy, Senior Regional Manager for International Student Recruitment. The discussions focused on several strategic areas aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two institutions. Key topics included the development of joint academic programs, such as dual-degree and academic twinning programs, as well as opportunities to provide scholarships and special facilities for students. The talks also explored expanding collaboration in scientific research through joint research projects and the exchange of expertise and knowledge among researchers and faculty members. The visit culminated in the signing of the Letter of Intent and the exchange of commemorative shields between the two sides, reflecting the strength of their academic relations and laying the foundation for a promising partnership that will contribute to achieving the scientific and educational development goals of both institutions. On the sidelines of the visit, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University and Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi held direct meetings with a number of Iraqi students and researchers studying at the University of Reading. During these meetings, they reviewed the students’ academic experiences, listened to their needs, and offered moral support, reaffirming the commitment of both the university and the cultural attaché office to following the progress of Iraqi students and encouraging them to continue their academic excellence and serve their homeland.
