Almustaqbal University officially participated in the international conference entitled “Humanity and Civilization in Africa and Asia Throughout History,” which was held in the Republic of Tunisia from April 1 to 4, 2026. This participation came as part of the university’s commitment to strengthening its scientific and academic presence in international forums and supporting the involvement of its researchers and academics in specialized scientific conferences.
The university’s participation was represented by a joint scientific research paper presented by Professor Dr. Mohsen Abdul Ali Al-Furaiji, Consultant at the Presidency of Almustaqbal University, in cooperation with Professor Dr. Kazim Musa Mohammed Al-Taie from the University of Mosul. The paper, entitled “The Sahara Desert Between the Concepts of Population Repulsion and Attraction,” presented an in-depth analytical study of the demographic and civilizational transformations associated with the Sahara Desert throughout history.
The scientific conference, held at the University of Tunis El Manar in coordination with the University of Mostaganem in Algeria, is considered an important academic event aimed at highlighting civilizational and population interactions across the African and Asian continents, while opening wider horizons for scientific dialogue among researchers and Arab and international academic institutions.
This participation reflects Almustaqbal University’s direction toward supporting scientific research in the humanities and social sciences, alongside applied and technological fields, in a way that strengthens knowledge integration within the university and affirms its role in producing knowledge and addressing scientific and civilizational issues of regional and international importance.
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Almustaqbal University, commended this scientific contribution, affirming the university’s continuous support for academics and researchers in representing Iraq in international scientific forums and contributing to strengthening the position of Iraqi scientific research in Arab and global academic circles.
Almustaqbal University affirms that its participation in such conferences comes within its institutional vision aimed at expanding scientific cooperation, strengthening academic partnerships, and encouraging rigorous research output that contributes to the study of humanitarian, civilizational, and developmental issues in line with the requirements of modern higher education.
