As part of the scientific activities of the Department of Architecture, a scientific activity entitled “From Islamic, Arab, and Contemporary Architecture” was organized to enhance students’ architectural knowledge and highlight the evolution of architectural thought across different historical periods. The activity reviewed the key characteristics of Islamic and Arab architecture, including symmetry, ornamentation, and spatial organization, while also discussing how these concepts have influenced contemporary architectural trends and modern design approaches. The activity further included analytical and practical aspects that enabled students to better understand architectural works and explore methods of integrating heritage-inspired elements into contemporary designs, achieving a balance between authenticity and modernity. This activity reflects the Department’s commitment to enriching students’ academic and cultural awareness, developing their analytical skills, and broadening their understanding of diverse architectural approaches that support their educational and professional development.
