Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the Women’s Affairs Division, in collaboration with the College of Agricultural Technologies, organized a scientific workshop titled “Women’s Empowerment for Teaching Staff” on 24 May 2026. The workshop was held as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen the role of women in the academic environment and empower them professionally and in leadership roles. The workshop aimed to enhance the participation of female academic staff in academic and political life, as well as to develop their leadership capabilities and decision-making skills within educational institutions, thereby contributing to improved academic and administrative performance. It also addressed the daily technical challenges faced by academic staff and explored ways to develop adaptability skills in dealing with modern technologies, ensuring continuity of work and achieving high productivity. The workshop highlighted the importance of linking women’s empowerment to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 on gender equality and Goal 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions. The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Surour Hafez Mohammed and Assistant Lecturer Rasha Fajr Kazzaz from the College of Agricultural Technologies, who emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment in supporting sustainable development pathways, increasing women’s participation in decision-making positions, and building a more inclusive and sustainable academic environment. In conclusion, participants stressed the importance of continuing such activities, which contribute to empowering female academic staff both academically and administratively, while reinforcing the university’s role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and building a more just and stable society.
