Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, the University announced on Saturday, May 23, 2026, the establishment of the University Artificial Intelligence Council, marking a strategic step toward enhancing digital transformation and advancing the academic and research environment in line with future requirements and the knowledge-based economy. The announcement was made during an official ceremony attended by academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, researchers, and specialists in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital technologies. The establishment of the Council represents a significant milestone in the University’s efforts to build a smart and innovative academic model driven by advanced technologies and digital innovation. On this occasion, the President of the University delivered a speech highlighting the University’s vision of transforming into a “Smart University” through the integration of artificial intelligence technologies across all aspects of university operations, including education, scientific research, administration, and student services. He emphasized that the Council will play a key role in supporting institutional development, enhancing decision-making processes, and improving academic outcomes. The ceremony also featured a specialized presentation by Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, who outlined the Council’s vision, mission, strategic objectives, and the major initiatives planned for the coming phase. Dr. Al-Zuhairi explained that the Council will focus on several strategic pathways, including the development of smart learning systems, support for research and innovation in artificial intelligence, promotion of entrepreneurship and startup initiatives, strengthening cybersecurity and AI ethics, and expanding academic and technological partnerships with local and international institutions. The Council will also contribute to developing future skills among students, employing AI technologies to support sustainable development goals, advancing digital media and intelligent content creation, and establishing a “Future Observatory” dedicated to monitoring emerging technologies and assessing their impact on higher education and the labor market.
