A delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University participated in a three-day international specialized workshop held in Erbil Governorate, organized within the framework of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Reform Project (TVET Reform - Phase 3). The participation aimed to support initiatives in the green economy, digital transformation, and the development of the labor market information observatory.
The university's participation featured specialized scientific presentations led by Professor Dr. Salwan Obaid Waheed (Director of the Energy Research Center and Rapporteur of the Sectoral Council for Green and Digital Economy), with active contributions from the distinguished delegation members, Dr. Anwar Qasim Said (Secretary of the Council) and Dr. Mohammed Maitham Obaid (Member of the Council). The sessions reviewed the strategic report outcomes for enabling development in Babylon Governorate and highlighted innovative research project models integrated with artificial intelligence technologies.
The workshop witnessed a prominent and extensive presence of UNESCO representatives (Iraq Office), led by Dr. Alexandros Makarigakis (UNESCO Representative to Iraq), along with the Director of the European Union for the Kurdistan Region. They expressed great appreciation for the scientific proposals, which enhanced the university's international presence and culminated in presenting the delegation with high-level certificates of appreciation, reinforcing the university's status as the only academic institution officially invited and honored at this international event.
This high-level participation aims to support scientific advancement, promote environmental solutions and digital innovation, and explore horizons for joint cooperation to align education with labor market needs. This is highlighted by the UNESCO official's announcement regarding an upcoming official visit to the university headquarters in Babylon to expand this strategic partnership.
Al-Mustaqbal University affirmed that this new international achievement reflects its strategy to maintain national leadership and secure the first rank among private universities, moving forward with confidence toward global leadership and digital innovation.
