The Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University Concludes the “Fundamentals of Nursing” Course and Enhances Students’ Practical Skills

The Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Technologies at the College of Health and Medical Technologies concluded, on Tuesday, 19/5/2026, the activities of the “Fundamentals of Nursing” training course, which lasted for two days, with the participation of students from the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Technologies and the Department of Emergency Medical Technologies, as part of the department’s efforts to develop students’ practical skills and strengthen their applied competencies. The course, supervised and conducted by instructor Zainab Ali Mohsen and lecturer Kadhim Hussein Jassim from the College of Nursing, included practical training for students on several essential nursing skills, including measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, blood sugar levels, respiratory rate, and heart rate, contributing to the preparation of healthcare professionals with both scientific knowledge and practical competence. The course also emphasized the importance of practical training in enhancing students’ professional readiness, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 related to Quality Education, through providing an integrated educational and training environment that supports the quality of healthcare education. This course comes as part of a series of scientific and training activities organized by the department and the university to refine students’ skills and strengthen the university’s academic and scientific standing at both the local and international levels.
