The Head of the Department of Biochemistry at the College of Science, Professor Dr. Nasser Abdul Hassan Nasser, held a scientific workshop entitled “How Does Biochemistry Explain the Human Body?” on Tuesday, 19/5/2026, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and students of the department. The workshop included an explanation of the role of Biochemistry in explaining the vital processes inside the human body through studying the chemical reactions occurring within cells and tissues, the mechanism of enzymes and hormones, as well as clarifying how the body produces energy, builds proteins, and regulates various biological functions. Professor Dr. Nasser Abdul Hassan Nasser emphasized the importance of biochemistry in medical, diagnostic, and research fields, as well as its role in understanding diseases and developing modern treatment methods, stressing the importance of supporting scientific knowledge among students and researchers. This workshop comes within the scientific activities organized by the Department of Biochemistry to enhance scientific awareness and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education.
