With a Flexible Attendance Mechanism.. University of Al-Mustaqbal Launches Summer Initiatives to Develop Innovation and Continuing Education for 2026

Chaired by the President of the University of Al-Mustaqbal, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, the university held its second meeting dedicated to formulating its future vision. This vision aims to support innovation and entrepreneurship while accelerating the transition toward a "Productive University." The meeting was attended by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, alongside directors of research centers and university departments, faculty members, and relevant staff. At the beginning of the meeting, the University President, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, emphasized that modern universities are no longer confined to merely imparting knowledge. Instead, they are now required to generate and invest knowledge to stimulate economic growth and sustainable development. He pointed out that the University of Al-Mustaqbal possesses advanced human and scientific capabilities that qualify it to play this pioneering role. His Excellency explained that achieving this vision requires integrated efforts from university leaders, faculty, staff, and students. This is to be accomplished by forming specialized scientific, administrative, and service-oriented task forces working in parallel within clear pathways and well-studied strategies to fulfill the university's goals in innovation, entrepreneurship, and institutional sustainability. Furthermore, the University President stressed the importance of supporting applied scientific research that offers realistic solutions to challenges across various sectors. He highlighted the need to strengthen partnerships with industrial, service, and productive institutions by activating Industrial Advisory Councils within colleges, thereby achieving synergy between the university, labor market needs, and national development. Following his opening remarks, the University President presented his future vision regarding the mechanisms of institutional transformation and cultivating a university environment that fosters creativity and innovation, aligning with modern global trends in higher education. For his part, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, presented a working paper detailing the main pillars of the future plan. These pillars included mechanisms for embedding a culture of innovation across university colleges, developing infrastructure and research laboratories, and providing financial and logistical support for entrepreneurial projects. The paper also addressed updating curricula to incorporate modern entrepreneurship concepts, achieving financial sustainability, transitioning into a productive university, and outlining key performance indicators (KPIs) for the upcoming period. The meeting witnessed extensive interventions and discussions from the directors of centers and departments, who proposed several developmental ideas and suggestions. These proposals aim to serve as the foundation for future entrepreneurial projects that enhance the university's academic and developmental standing. In conclusion, the University President, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, shared his observations and directives regarding the presented visions and proposals. He underscored the importance of continuous communication and coordination among colleges, research centers, and relevant departments. He reaffirmed the University Presidency's full support for all qualitative initiatives that contribute to achieving the university's strategic goals, while emphasizing that the student remains a fundamental pillar and an active partner in the process of transformation, development, and innovation within the university.
