The Department of Industrial Technologies at the College of Health and Medical Technologies at Universit Al-Mustaqbal (https://uomus.edu.iq/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) organized an online awareness workshop entitled “The Role of Women in Promoting Justice, Human Rights, and Community Peace” on Wednesday evening, May 13, 2026, for first-year students. The workshop was presented by Dr. Tuqa Hazim Abdullah and Ms. Tabarak Ahmed Turki.
The workshop addressed the vital role of women in building a society based on justice and equality, as well as their effective contribution to spreading a culture of tolerance and strengthening community peace. It emphasized that empowering women and respecting their rights are fundamental pillars for achieving stability and sustainable development within society. The workshop was conducted in implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security, particularly the Protection Pillar – Paragraph Two, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 5: Gender Equality.
Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the major challenges facing women, including discrimination, violence, and limited awareness of women’s rights, while stressing the importance of supporting women and encouraging their participation in education, employment, and community engagement due to its positive impact on building a more aware and cohesive society.
This workshop comes as part of the department’s ongoing awareness activities aimed at enhancing students’ cultural and humanitarian awareness and reinforcing the values of cooperation, respect, and human rights.
