The Department of Biology at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a psychological awareness workshop entitled “Electronic Blackmail” on Tuesday, 5/5/2026, at the College of Science, under the supervision and presentation of Lecturer Asst. Ali Kumait Hamad, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and students, as part of the department’s approved awareness and guidance activities. The workshop aimed to raise students’ awareness about the dangers of electronic blackmail, highlight its psychological and social effects, and explain the proper ways to deal with and reduce the spread of this phenomenon. The workshop included an explanation of the concept of electronic blackmail, its causes, and methods of prevention, in addition to educating students about the safe use of social media platforms and the importance of protecting digital privacy. The workshop also witnessed active interaction from students through questions and discussions related to the psychological and social aspects of this issue, contributing to enhancing their community awareness. This workshop comes as part of the efforts of the Department of Biology at Al-Mustaqbal University to spread awareness and guidance culture among students and promote a safe university environment based on awareness and responsibility.
