Department of Radiology organizes an activity on nursing ethics and their importance in healthcare.

Under the patronage of the Head of the Radiology Techniques Department, Professor Dr. Raad Shakir Abees, the Radiology Department organized a scientific activity entitled “Nursing Ethics and Their Importance in Healthcare,” presented by Dr. Fadel Sahib Al-Hasnawi. This activity was part of the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance students’ professional awareness and to reinforce ethical principles, which are considered a fundamental pillar in the delivery of healthcare services. The activity addressed the concept of nursing ethics as a system of values and standards that guide the behavior of nursing staff in dealing with patients. It highlighted key principles such as respecting patient dignity, maintaining privacy, ensuring the confidentiality of medical information, as well as adhering to professional integrity and responsibility in performing duties. It also emphasized the importance of fairness in providing healthcare without discrimination, and the promotion of empathy and humanity in with various medical cases. Furthermore, a number of real-life cases and professional situations that require sound ethical decision-making were presented, giving students the opportunity to think critically and actively participate in discussing appropriate solutions. The activity witnessed notable attendance and positive engagement from students, who raised various questions and inquiries reflecting their awareness of the importance of ethical aspects in professional practice, and their eagerness to acquire the skills needed to deal with patients efficiently and humanely. This activity comes a series of scientific and educational events organized by the Radiology Department, aiming to prepare well-qualified healthcare professionals who possess scientific knowledge, practical skills, and strong ethical commitment, ultimately contributing to improving the quality of healthcare services and achieving the best outcomes for patients.
