The Medical Physics Department at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific awareness activity on Wednesday, February 5, 2026, through the presentation of an educational poster titled “The Voice Is a Blessing… Protect It from Danger”, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hamza Abbas Jawad, with the participation of Noor Issa, Maryam Redha, and Zahraa Basim, as part of the department’s efforts to promote health awareness and preventive education within the university environment. The poster addressed an important health-related topic concerning vocal health and the impact of several behavioral and environmental factors on the voice, particularly smoking, vocal strain, dehydration, respiratory infections, as well as exposure to pollutants and gases that may affect the larynx and vocal performance. It also presented a number of practical health guidelines for protecting the voice, including drinking sufficient amounts of water, speaking in a moderate tone, resting the voice when fatigue appears, avoiding smoking, and seeking medical advice when hoarseness persists. This activity represented one of the department’s scientific awareness initiatives that reflect its commitment to linking academic knowledge with public health education by presenting clear and accessible content on issues directly related to well-being and quality of life. The poster also contributed to delivering direct preventive messages in a simple scientific format, helping to strengthen awareness of the importance of protecting the vocal system and maintaining vocal health. The activity stood out for its scientific content and educational value, highlighting the important role played by the faculty of the Medical Physics Department in supporting meaningful initiatives that combine awareness, knowledge, and community service. It also demonstrated the department’s continued interest in encouraging activities that enrich the university environment with practical and beneficial health information.
