Students of the Department of Industrial Medical Technologies at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Universit Al-Mustaqbal, organized a scientific awareness activity on the importance of adequate hydration for maintaining kidney health during the summer season, as part of the Future Sustainability Week aimed at promoting health and environmental awareness among students. The activity included the distribution of water cups featuring informative stickers that highlighted the physiological role of water in supporting renal function, including the regulation of electrolyte balance, facilitation of waste excretion, and prevention of dehydration-related complications such as kidney stones and acute kidney stress. The initiative aimed to reinforce evidence-based health behaviors and encourage regular water intake as a preventive measure. The event also incorporated an interactive and practical component, where students engaged in discussions on optimal hydration strategies, daily fluid requirements, and the impact of high temperatures on body homeostasis. The Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Dr. Zahraa Halim Al-Qaim, attended the activity and commended the scientific approach and active student participation, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in advancing public health awareness within academic institutions. The activity witnessed positive engagement through scientific dialogue and inquiries regarding best practices for maintaining hydration during summer conditions. In conclusion, the importance of sustaining scientifically grounded awareness activities was emphasized to promote preventive healthcare practices, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being)—and consistent with the mission of Universit Al-Mustaqbal in fostering education, research, and sustainability.
