Scientific Workshop on the Use of Agricultural Residues in the Production of Animal Feed

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance scientific knowledge and promote sustainable agricultural practices, the College of Agricultural Technologies / Department of Animal Production Technologies organized a scientific workshop entitled “The Use of Agricultural Residues in the Production of Animal Feed” on Tuesday, 29 April 2026, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and students of the department. The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Sarour Hafez Mohammed, who addressed the importance of utilizing and recycling agricultural residues to produce animal feed with high nutritional value, thereby reducing waste and maximizing the efficient use of available resources. She also reviewed the most prominent modern methods and technologies adopted in processing these residues and improving their properties to make them suitable for animal nutrition. The lecturer further highlighted the economic and environmental dimensions of this approach, emphasizing its effective role in reducing livestock production costs and minimizing negative environmental impacts, in addition to supporting sustainability concepts within the agricultural sector. The workshop witnessed active engagement from attendees through discussions and scientific interventions that enriched its themes. At the conclusion of the workshop, the College Deanship reaffirmed its commitment to organizing scientific activities that contribute to developing students’ skills and enhancing their applied knowledge, commending the lecturer’s efforts in delivering valuable scientific content.
