The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Education, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a cultural awareness activity on the occasion of World Creativity and Innovation Day, on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Hall (008) of the Humanities Building.
The activity was held with the support of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Roudhan Salman, and supervised and presented by the Head of the Unit, Professor Dr. Thanaa Baha Al-Din Abdullah, with the participation of Professor Dr. Sahira Qahtan and Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Kazem, Head of the Psychological Counseling Committee in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences.
The activity highlighted the significance of World Creativity and Innovation Day, which was designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 2017 to promote awareness of the importance of creativity and innovation in achieving sustainable development. The sessions also addressed the concepts of creativity and innovation, the differences between them, their key components, and the main challenges facing their development in educational environments.
Additionally, a range of practical strategies was presented to help students enhance their creative thinking skills, including diversifying knowledge sources, encouraging brainstorming, accepting failure as part of the learning process, and fostering a supportive environment for new ideas.
The activity targeted second-year students in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, aiming to promote a culture of creativity and innovation within the academic community, in line with achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 on quality education.
