The Department of Medical Physics at the College of Sciences, Al-Mustaqbal University, attended the specialized workshop titled “Financial Inclusion and Electronic Fraud of Cards” on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The workshop was organized by Al-Mustaqbal University in cooperation with the Trade Bank of Iraq TBI, and was held at the University Presidency Hall, with the attendance of a number of administrative and financial leaders, as well as university staff members. The attendance of the Department of Medical Physics came as an affirmation of the department’s keenness to follow up on awareness and educational activities that enhance financial and digital awareness within the university environment, especially in light of the increasing use of electronic banking services and smart cards, along with the challenges related to digital protection and the security of personal information. The workshop addressed several key topics, including the concept of financial inclusion and its importance in providing banking services to different segments of society, modern electronic fraud methods targeting bank card users, and practical guidelines for identifying fake messages and links, as well as ways to prevent phishing and digital fraud attempts. The organizers of the workshop praised the distinguished attendance of the Department of Medical Physics and its interaction with the topics presented, as this attendance reflected a clear interest in strengthening digital and financial culture among students and staff, and in connecting academic knowledge with the requirements of contemporary reality, which is witnessing rapid digital transformation in various fields. This attendance comes within the framework of the Department of Medical Physics’ commitment at the College of Sciences, Al-Mustaqbal University, to keeping pace with purposeful university activities and supporting efforts that contribute to building a safe and aware educational environment, while enhancing the ability of students and staff to deal responsibly with modern technologies and digital financial services. This activity is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through promoting digital awareness and encouraging the safe use of modern technologies within the university community.
