Enzymes are among the most important biological molecules that regulate chemical reactions within living cells. These specialized proteins act as catalysts, accelerating reactions without being consumed, thereby ensuring the efficiency of vital processes. Enzymes exhibit high specificity, as each enzyme binds to a particular substrate and converts it into specific products. Their activity depends on several factors, including temperature, pH, and substrate concentration. Any alteration in enzyme activity can lead to health disorders, as many diseases are associated with either deficiency or overactivity of certain enzymes. Therefore, enzymes are also widely used as biomarkers in disease diagnosis and health monitoring. The study of enzymes is fundamental to understanding biological processes and plays a key role in advancing medical and industrial applications.
