Scientific Poster Presentation on Energy Efficiency in University Buildings at Al-Mustaqbal University

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Technical Engineering College, supervised by Dr. Ahd Hamid, organized an important scientific activity on Wednesday 22/4/2026. The activity was implemented by Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Salah Hadi from the Department of Fuel and Energy. The activity featured a scientific poster titled: “Assessing Energy Efficiency in University Buildings: Sustainable Improvement Strategies at Al-Mustaqbal University.” The poster presented an analytical study of energy consumption patterns within university buildings, focusing on identifying technical improvement opportunities that contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and transforming the campus into a smart and environmentally friendly environment. The poster highlighted results indicating the possibility of reducing energy consumption by up to 30% through the application of sustainable improvement strategies, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable university environment. This activity aimed to promote a culture of sustainability, enhance environmental awareness among students, and develop their skills in scientific data analysis and presentation. It also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and Goal 13 (Climate Action). Furthermore, this activity is part of the implementation of the National Strategy to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls (2026), Pillar: Protection and Prevention, Paragraph (3), which focuses on distributing awareness posters across social, environmental, and economic fields. Al-Mustaqbal University, ranked first among private universities in Iraq, reaffirms its commitment to supporting scientific research and strengthening the role of women in academic and community-based sustainable activities.
