A humanitarian visit to a nursing home was conducted under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, on Wednesday 22/4/2026. The visit was organized as a volunteer activity by the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Technical Engineering College under the supervision of Dr. Ahd Hamid, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division at Al-Mustaqbal University, and implemented by Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Issa and fourth-stage students from the Department of Medical Instrumentation Engineering Techniques.
The visit aimed to enhance social communication and bring joy and happiness to the elderly, contributing to improving their morale and strengthening values of filial piety. It also provided psychological support, as social visits are considered one of the most important means of enhancing the psychological and social stability of this group.
This activity aligns with the Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), Pillar: Protection and Prevention, Paragraph (2). It is also consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 (Gender Equality), which promotes women’s empowerment and the creation of an inclusive academic and social environment.
Al-Mustaqbal University, ranked first among private universities in Iraq, reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the role of women and providing a supportive and sustainable academic, research, and social environment that promotes community responsibility and humanitarian work.
